Weymouth’s Picturesque harbour with its 17th century waterfront started developing between the 12th and 13th Centuries. Connecting Weymouth Old town and Melcombe Regis, claims to fame include being heavily involved in the Civil War, being the British Isles entry point for “The Great Plague” and providing boats and men for the siege of Calais in 1347.
