Located on edge of the town centre, sloping up from the beach and promenade, and overlooking Weymouth’s seafront, the gardens were originally part of the Wilton Estate and were handed over as a gift to the local council in 1902. They have received many awards and have been recognised as one of the best green spaces in the country by being awarded Green Flag status. The Gardens include many features including a floral clock and an 18 hole putting green, one of our favourite features is the recently added wildlife discovery trail.
The trail is made up of 8 beautifully carved sculptures of locally found insects and animals hidden within the gardens, to be discovered. The carvings are by the Portland Stone and Quarry Trust.
Will you be able to find them all?”
