Radipole Nature Reserve is a lake on the river Wey, close to Weymouth town centre.
An important habitat consisting of wetlands, hedgerow scrub, reedbeds and saline lagoons. Which is home to some amazing wildlife, including birds like bearded tits and kingfishers, and elusive creatures such as otters and water voles.
Radipole Lake is also thought to have been a Roman port that was unfortunately lost to silting.
Free entry, plenty to see and within walking distance from our front door, this is definitely one of our favourite local spots to visit.
